Interview: Why I'm a Coach
I was recently interviewed by the National Coach Academy via life coach path and it was such a great experience to talk about why and how I do the work I do.
IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU
Usually when coaching someone, my main focus is my client… I have found that often times a new client comes to me for a “sample” session and we just jump right into coaching — I might give them a sentence or two about my view of coaching vs. therapy vs. mentoring but for the most part, it’s not about me, it’s about you, the client. Do you feel heard, supported and do you feel like I am the one who can partner with you to get you where you want to go. It’s not about my certifications, my “formula” - which by the way, I am certified and I have no “formula”… it’s about the connection.
THE PROCESS
But if you would like to know more about my process, why I do what I do, and how I go about it, then please check out the attached link to my interview! And while you are there, check out interviews by some other coaches — because I often say, you will know when it’s the right coach for you — I liken ourselves to love or real estate — so if it’s not me, do sample sessions with a couple of other coaches until you find the one who is right for you.
I hope you enjoy!
“Our main objective here at the National Coach Academy is to enable aspiring coaches to reach their full professional potential. One of the most effective ways to educate students about the world of coaching is by offering them a window into the world of real, practicing coaches and showing them all the different ways coaches make a difference in the lives of their clients.
We hope today’s interview adds another insightful glimpse into the dynamic world of coaching.
